News Desk (Esha Roy): After India crosses a tally of 1,90,162 cases of novel Coronavirus cases, including more than 5,402 deaths, it has become seventh most affected nation across the world, according to the World Health Organisation’s Coronavirus tracker. This has forced many to raise their eyebrows at the functioning style of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People have been criticizing and passing comments against him on Twitter it has since started trending #StepDownModi. The opposition has started spitting venom on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue.
Dr. Archana Sharma, Vice President and Media Chairperson, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee has tweeted, “When you can change nothing it’s better to change yourself. (The) uncontrolled train needs a better driver.”
The United States is at the top of the list with 18.2 lakh cases of COVID-19, which includes 1.05 lakh deaths, followed by Brazil, 5.01 lakh cases of the novel coronavirus and over 28,000 deaths. Russia is at third position with 4.5 lakh cases of the pandemic followed by the England, Spain and Italy. Though, these are the countries with a very small and thin population in comparison to India with a population of 130 crore.
Talking of India, the fifth phase of the Coronavirus induced lock-down has started from today i.e. June 1, 2020 with more relaxations and flexibility given to state governments and local administrations. Religious places and shopping malls will open from June 8. Containment zones are strictly under full lock-down with no relaxations till June 30, 2020.
In a bid to prevent people from the pandemic Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed that measures must be taken to stop coronavirus and hailed COVID-19 warriors comprising medical staff, police, paramilitary forces, sanitizing workers and others who are at the forefront.
